Saturday night date...

So...tonight was awesome...i went to dinner with one of the most wonderful, beautiful, exciting, funny, delightful women i have ever known...my Grandma Faye...Diana had given me a gift card to Famous Dave's BBQ so after work at Painted Pony i went to Grandma Faye's and announced that we were going to dinner..."Oh good, i was hoping someone would come by today...i was thinking that someone would come but i wasn't sure who or when." SO we went to Famous Dave's and had a delightful dinner...i had an awesome BBQ burger and fries (although Grandma ate MOST of my fries) and Grandma Faye had a loaded baked potato and wild rice soup...that's the LAST time THAT happens...after she ordered, i could tell she wished she had ordered a burger SO next time that's what she's gonna get...but, it was a wonderful meal and she LOVED the soup and MY fries...we shared a pecan pie with ice cream...well, actually, i gave her a little sliver of pie and ice cream and crammed the rest down my greedy mouth! thanks Diana for a wonderful evening! then, we went home and watched a cheesy hallmark movie with Shelly Long (love her) and Patty Duke...i couldn't have asked for a better Saturday night "date"! now i am watching HAIRSPRAY for the12,000th time this year...but seriously, i lost count at 35, which was when Natalie and Co. were here in July...

THE PIC OF THE NEW CENTURY...

well...i would have bet my entire MUPPET collection that Senator McCain would have picked Mitt Romney and I would have LOST that entire collection...thank heavens i still have Janice and Fozzy and chef and gonzo and piggy (i do not have a Kermit...unless you count a refrigerator magnet) ... i am pleased and astonished by the vice presidential pic of Sarah Palin...apparently they will all be in the next issue of PEOPLE magazine...i assumed that the best pic for the GOP candidate would be Mitt Romney...he seemed to be the best republican for second in command
BUT i must say that this is certainly the most savvy political move in the new century, certainly surpassing the "safe" pick of Joe Bidden by Barack Obama...THIS pic from Alaska is adorable, sexy, assured, certain in her morals, funny, and an affront to the established political establishment (mostly saying &%^(*! off to her own corrupt political party in Alaska and elsewhere)...this is a pic whom is completely pro-life and completely against any sort of gay-rights in government (I would be more enthusiastic for her if she were more liberal on her views)...but...let NO one be led astray...THIS is an exciting pic...this may just be the PIC of the century as a completely "out of the box" pic...one that i feel senator Obama could (and should) have made...IF McCain wins this contest,it is because he has played every stage with complete astute political savvy...congrats to senator McCain for a certainly historic and conquering political move...

I'm fat...

I My boss came back to work today after a week vacation...she seems very nice and very particular about the way she wants things done...kind of like Mario in NYC...believe me, I'd much rather have a boss that cares too much than a boss that doesn't care at all...I'm getting SO fat...today i had 5 taco time crisp tacos for 5.95 and 2 soft tacos for 3.19 and then Diana made chicken pot pie and i had to have one...and then later I had a full plate of mashed potatoes with gravy...yummy...what can i say? i love to eat more than anything else in life!

I love Michelle

Thank you Michelle Obama for a phenomenal "first lady" speech...I can only wonder what Cindy Mccain will talk about in her speech (documented addiction to drugs, daddy's beer empire, 7 plus houses, how many barbie-look-alike contests she has won, the downside of being a size 0 since age 10)...I found Michelle's speech to be touching, warm, and unequivocally American...this is a woman who has come from a working class background (like me...unlike Cindy) and a woman who has given her entire life to public service (like me, but mine in the food service industry...would you like fries or house salad?)...I am not even sure "barbie" Mccain would even know what fries are...I would vote for Barack JUST to see Michelle in the white house (is saying "white house" even politically correct anymore?) ...and, did you see the adorable two little girls? they were a delight although I completely disagree with what the older girl wore..it looked like she was going to an audition for a video shoot of Reba McEntire's FANCY. My 87 year old Grandma Faye told me on Sunday, "I'm not sure if America is ready for Barack Obama as president."...translation...a black man. Well, who knows...she may be right...America may be more racist than we think. I am ready...this is a man and a first lady and a family that has won me over....except of course, for that little outfit the oldest daughter wore on the convention floor of the DNC...

1st day of DNC

i can't do anything in the evenings for the next two weeks...the Democratic National Convention is this week and the Republican National Convention is next week and i will be watching them BOTH via FOX NEWS...i will, of course, be occasionally flipping to CNN, but i will mostly be on FOX because they are just more entertaining...i have a very open mind so i basically argue with pretty much everything they say (except Bill Hemmer, i will never argue with him)...Caroline Kennedy is speaking now (daughter of JFK)...it's really too bad that JFK, JR. was killed in a plane crash...he would have been a great president...i mean, who would you rather look at give the state of the union...McCain or JFK, JR.??? Since we are left with the choice of Obama, I am gonna have to go with him...hasn't the county had enough years of old white men leading us around? (no offense dad and uncles)... Chenny/Bush have been leading us for the last eight years and the only good thing we've gotten out of it is books entitled, "stupid Bush sayings." enough is enough...let's try something new...i'm really sorry Hillary Clinton didn't win...maybe Chelsea will run some day...i will say that IF McCain picks Romney it's pretty much over...Romney will look WONDERFUL on the ticket and he will pretty much help McCain win the presidency...which, to be honest, will be okay with me...call me biased but i do believe i trust Romney to lead with honor and integrity...but it sure would be cool to have someone NEW leading our country...

every day is a new day (thank heavens)

so...i'm at home (at dad and diana's) in st. george, utah ... just had dinner with monty and april and monica and danny and megan and ryan and grandma faye hawkeye ... THESE people are a major part of why i decided to move myself home ...i've seen grandma faye every single day (except that VEGAS weekend) and i've seen my nephews almost every day and i've seen my dad and second mom every day and i've seen my bro and my sis in law a lot too...man, it's hard to edit myself...normally i would have typed at LEAST 10 "colorful" words by now, but my mostly mormon family will hopefully be reading this as well as my mosty non-mormon friends SO i hope that my non-mormon friends won't be offended by the lack of profanities ... i mean, i just!!! oh yeah...and i am sure that it's obvious i've chosen the "rosie o'donnell" school of blogging as my instruct on punctuation and "stream of consciousnessnessnessness"...oh dear, Bill Hemmer is on FOX NEWS...he is my all time favorite newsman...i mean, if he were JUST reading the phonebook i would watch...i just looked him up on google.com (it's a search engine type website type thing) and he was born November 14, 1964...we are BOTH Scorpios!!! ...i LOVE FOX NEWS...it has got to be the single most entertaining news channel EVER...when i try to watch CNN i fall asleep...but i remember watching Mr. Hemmer on CNN and i NEVER fell asleep...i mean, i just! Clinton/Hemmer 2012!
